Backups and Business Continuity in the Cloud

by Greg Phillips

MyTechCoach Business Backups

Hello gang Greg here with My Tech Coach your Tech Guru.

Today we’re going to talk about backups. We use a system in the cloud called Axcient really slick backup desktop machines and backs up servers. But, people don’t think about their clouds meaning Google Workspace Office 365.

We live there with a lot of data, email, calendars, files, and folders, and you never think about that going away and it always being there. It’s in the cloud.

Well, disaster can happen. What about if you get somebody hacking your account or you just deleted a bunch of stuff and somehow you couldn’t restore it in Microsoft’s restore tool or Google’s restore tool? Not to fear, very cost-effective and easy for us to install, X360 Cloud will take care of that.

So I’m going to launch this and we can take a look um so we can put this as I say on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. I have it on my Google Workspace. And basically, it protects all the files, all the email accounts, and all the calendars.

33.47 gigabytes. You may have more, you may have less. Point is you need business continuity. You need to get files and things back and get them back easily.

So let’s just take a look couple of things here. I’m only billed for licensed users, so any users that aren’t using anything aren’t licensed, and aren’t billed. Makes sense right?

So I’ll look at my organization here and I’ll look at um storage say successful it’s doing this every day on the hour.

So if I go to my shared drives this is where people lose things when you get multiple users in a shared drive saving and moving things, but you can literally find everything at the file level.

So if I type on the keyword search something like CLIENT  because I probably have folders and files with that term. There we go right, everything with the word client. And I could drill down into this and I can either pull up the file and restore it, or pull it up or download it.

Just some of the features, but the main thing is, we’re living in the cloud with our data, client data, our emails, our history, and our lives for years and years. Business continuity guys is key, so getting that data back quickly and easily and having that backup, it’s worth it.

So, that’s your little lesson today on Axcient. Hope you enjoyed it. We’ll do some other things next time. But Disaster Recovery it’s real, and when you need it you need it, so please email us if you want to get this set up for you.
